Description

Develops and implements quality processes and metrics addressing optimization of production quality at the source, elimination of failures/losses, inspection requirements, disposition of non-conforming material, qualification and statistical process control methods, and tests to assure products can reliably meet all quality, regulatory and global customer requirements. Analyze, investigate and drive product and process quality problems to root cause resolution by using the Six-Sigma DMAIC process, technical/quality knowledge and practical experience. Ensures that prompt and effective action is taken to prevent or resolve quality issues. Develop technical quality documents, plans and procedures which detail processes to be implemented or improved, data collection mechanisms for metric reporting and provide for clear understanding for execution at the highest reliability and lowest cost. Maintain knowledge of best-in-class quality systems, quality management tools & techniques, and new/existing product development tools. Works to develop an understanding of user applications related to all quality processes and systems. Provides training related to quality and Six-Sigma DMAIC problem solving tools. Responsible for supplier quality including auditing, evaluation of supplier quality programs, and resolution of non-conforming supplier products and processes. Oversees the internal audit program ensuring a complete and business effective audit plan. Monitors auditing status to ensure completion of the audit plan. Interfaces proactively with sourcing, manufacturing, design engineering, project engineering, product managers and suppliers to define specific product quality requirements. Represents company in support of customer and regulatory audits and visits.

Requirements

BS degree in Engineering discipline (EE, EET, ME, MET) with 6+ years of relevant experience with preference given to low volume, highly customizable production experience. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification desired. 2+ years of QA program implementation, quality planning, and supplier audit/evaluation and performance assessment areas. Familiarity with ISO-9000 requirements. Computer literacy in standard MS software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…). Ability to Lead improvement of current and implementation of new quality engineering practices/processes and act as a knowledge/experience leader/resource. May act in liaison capacity with other depts, divisions & organizations.
